Haven't seen any recent updates on Donald Norman's site in the last little while, but he's posted some new stuff now that he's done with his new book (Emotional Design). He has a new article that describes the Harmony Remote control which was designed using a user-centered approach. After programming the remote (supposedly quite painless), the user just indicates that they want to "watch TV" or "watch a DVD".

Don calls this "Activity-Centered Design" but I'm not sure if he's suggesting there's yet another approach, or just using the term in this context.
